Crane Hire

Crane hire is cheaper than getting in a specialist crane contractor and obviously makes sense when compared to the very high cost of buying a crane.

However, a hire crane, with all the challenges of operation and maintenance, is completely the responsibility or the hiree whereas an experienced crane contractor is able to immediately operate the crane expertly, safely, without delay and to your exact specifications.

If you do hire a crane at least you can be assured that it will get on site (hopefully) exactly when required and the hire firm will take care of the transportation. There are therefore no additional costs associated with the transport and storage of a hired crane.

Read the hire agreement carefully paying special attention to clauses about cleaning, maintaining and insuring the crane. Whilst the crane is under your hire period you are responsible for taking all reasonable steps to ensure its correct operation and maintenance.
